SUMMARY

Drawing from Marshall McLuhan and other philosophers and media theorists, this paper will explore the existential meaning of information implosion and the explosion in relation to space telescopes, the big bang, and the effects of the deep desire for human consciousness to "roam the cosmos." In pointing toward such conditions, this paper will outline the cultural understanding juxtaposes "light" with "time" across media theory and media technologies.
