WORLD'S FAIRS: VARIOUS

These are some of the world's fairs that have shaped human destiny by presenting models of culture, technology, the world, and the cosmos. It's easy to focus on specific predictions or details, then laugh and mistakenly conclude these fairs did not influence, shape, or reflect our culture.

Yet, at the deeper levels, these fairs did model and shape the essentials of twentieth and twenty-first technological culture — the machine age, atomic age, space age, information age, ecological age. The Fairs featured exhibits and models dedicated to industrial mass production, suburbia, consumer society, highway systems, nuclear power, air travel, space exploration, tourism industries, global telecommunications, computers, cyberspace, the internet, ecology, environmentalism, and so on.
